Do you play music for your chickens?

So my neighbor's son works out of his Dad's garage during the day and absolutely 'blasts' outlaw country. And I mean loud, like you're right next to it loud. I was in the middle of acclimating my chicks to the coop the first week I started noticing it and I was a bit annoyed, thinking the noise could be unnerving to them.

Since I was back and forth checking on them all day for the first week I realized they behaved differently during different songs, and it seemed like they were having a really good time. One day I was sitting next to the run and they heard his extra loud car down at the street and started getting super excited like how they do for treats!! I think it's hilarious how they all run around and flap/hop and play with each other during the heavier songs and lay in a big cuddle pile for the ballads.

I didn't tell my husband what I have been observing because he already thinks I'm a nut. He just caught them playing around to Charlie Daniels and he thought it was so funny he came to tell me about it, so it made me think... am I not crazy? Lots of birds visibly enjoy music, so why not chickens? Do you ever play music for your chickens? If so, what do they like? I'm very curious!!

We have a stereo in the barn with a speaker system that my husband turns up pretty loud so he can hear it when he's working outside and around the barn. The chickens all fight to nest right behind the largest speaker. It can be blaring so loud that I don't even like to be close to the speaker and they will still tussle with each other for that speaker spot. I've had several hens decide to go broody there too🤦

Edit: I just wanted to add that there is no nesting box by the speaker they just decided to make it one themselves.

Birds of any kind tend to like music, I like to think they prefer quiet music however some may go for hard rock. :D But seriously, I have used music for lone birds, sick birds and stressed birds and it really does calm them down, quite comforting.

The first flock of chickens I had did like music/song. I started singing to them when they were day old chicks. They had one song that would gather them toward me, and another song that would call them to roost. I kid you not. My neighbors and family cracked up and were in disbelief. They all passed eventually to old age. We just got four new chicks in April of this year. I sing to them, also, and play music - typically classical. They do seem to enjoy the music, but do not respond the same as the first flock. -funny how they are all so different.
