Sad sounding rooster vocalization--have you heard it before? What does it mean?

This is my pariah rooster. He is rooster#3 of 3, about 1 year old, and the other two roosters will chase him off if he gets too close to them, or the hens. Sometimes he goes off by himself and makes this sad vocalization. Does anyone familiar with rooster know what this particular vocalization means? To me, it sounds like he is lonely. LOL but I am not sure roosters can feel loneliness.

My chickens make that sound from time to time. It doesn't mean they are sad. As far as I know, chickens don't have that emotion, at least a form of expression of sadness.

I take it more to mean they are expressing contentment.

They can feel loneliness if they do not have a flock. My hens make that sound as well. It is nothing to worry about.
