Still no joy with taking food but when we take them outside they sit under me so I can't be all bad! 🤣
We've got out first Roo suspect. Overnight his comb has sprouted more than the other two and he is much bigger! He has the Roo stance and he's the first one to fly. He's up for exploring more...
I didn't realise the white was rare but the fawn and white are beautiful so which every custard turns out to be she's going to still be a cutie I'm sure
No, there were runner ducks all over the farm of every colour! There was definitely a black one that was male that may or may not have been black and white. I was fascinated by him as he kept trying to eat the lady's shoes but I didn't register his colour. Everyone else was over at the pond and...
I would love the heat if I didn't have to work! What I would like is mild days with rain enough for the garden. Warm evenings but not muggy. Sunny hot weekends......I don't want much do I 🤣
Ah ok, we don't mind either way. They are all cute as buttons but their names relate to their current colours. Oreo I think might be black and white when he/she grows up which is awesome. Everyone else is going to be a bit of a surprise. We don't have to wait too long I don't think :)
I don't have the foggest, I just watched a video of someone explaining duckling colours and what colour they'd grow into but I still couldn't see the difference. The yellow ones were either white or white and fawn and I couldn't see any difference between them 🤣
Does anyone have any idea about what adult colours these might be when they grow up. I have no idea, I thought the yellow one would be white but I've seen online she could be fawn and white?
So true, we got 4 unsexed chicks from a farm. Two were as bold as brass and couldn't wait to say hello. Would be the first to run to me and nibble food from me.....they are boys. Different in their own way for sure, one is more upfront than the other but still came before the girls.
Every...
Our two previous sets have been in the same brooder which is a mesh type pet pen.
Both of these were cautious but would approach for a nibble of food on my finger within days. These have gotten no closer than they did the first time I offered my finger.
I don't really mind, I really am just...
We collected my daughter's runner ducklings a few days ago and they are everything she dreamed of.
The white one is Custard, the half and half is Oreo, the brown one I think is Lotus and Dodger they are all biscuits (cookie) names.
I do have one question, one duckling is quieter than the...
Our chicks are nearly 2 weeks old but I haven't been able to get them to take food from me.
We've not had this with our previous chicks and I'm not sure if it's the breed they are.
They are Marans X legbars and a cream legbar.
If you have only girls in your clutch do you find them less...
One of my roos sounds like a broken squeaky toy and the other has a super high pitched crow that cracks. They are both 7-8 weeks and started a few days ago.
