Most mums stop caring for the chicks once they start laying eggs again. Ime if you are going to lose chicks from now until they start to lay eggs is the critical period.
You can worry yourself to death trying to keep track of the chicks.
When mum says it's time for them to fend for themselves...
The mesh is to build a run that attaches to the coop similar to what is attached to the old coop. It's mainly to allow chickens to roost outside, but still have some security.
Something like this. 1.5 metres long.

True, but I'm not expecting mites to find an easy hiding place given the coop is plastic. I'll be sealing the joins later so a tight fit would make this easier.

Another warm day. Nobody wanted to look at the camera today.

I'm not sure what happened with this evenings pictures. I don't seem to have got a single one in focus. I must have jogged a button or something.
I'm not sure what's going on with the chickens either. C said Henry and at some others were in the new coop when she fed them this morning. When...
Another warm day and due to get hot even by my standards at the weekend.
Three roosting in the new coop this evening; one in a nest box and two on a roost bar.
I'm on the lookout for a new water holder. The plastic one currently in use has a split both sides and isn't going to last much longer...
There is a difference between being antisocial and not liking the people one is forced to socialize with.:p
Some people, well okay, lots of people, say I'm antisocial. I'm not. I'm just fussy about who I spend my time with.
