Several years ago, I tested low on vit D and they wanted to retest in a few months. I never went back for the retest. That winter, I fell and broke my wrist. D helps your body absorb calcium. Wish I'd gone back for the retest and taken it seriously. It was a year before my hand was back to...
Thank you! I have thought about letting the chickens into "the side yard," as we call it. I'd say I could fence in about 40x20 feet, maybe larger. But. (There's always a but.) This area is used for many things, so the fence would have to be moveable and at times removable, or at least gotten out...

Example: I was teaching a knitting class. A woman said she had trouble counting rows completed in her pattern, but only when it was a stitch...
That's what I make for my chickens as their "snack." They love it. It's also how I use up the fine bits/dust that end up at the bottom of their feeder and the bin I store the food in.
I found that link to have some really good info, and will use it to better my chickens' lives. I have a coop and run, no free ranging. Right now with HPAI a threat, this might be a good thing, but that's another topic.
