    It sometimes works to distract slugs/snails but not deer. When i had a deer issue i planted 3 times what i wanted especially of the things they liked most. I had a fenced garden area and an unfenced deer area. Wasn't perfect but helped. Broody Rosie having a good stretch

    I have found tying a line crisscrossing from one side to the other over the top helps keep a hoop cover down better.

    Mine prefer me to pull off the seeds 😛 i love watching them jump for the tall ones. We had a hen get a different kind of grass seed bit stuck in her eye last summer, it was a scary moment! I was able to grab her and Bill pulled it out.

    I haven't done a ton of research, but we feed black soldier fly larvae (grubs) instead of meal worms because they are supposed to be at least as high in protein, but lower in fat.
