This is one of my recently hatched (4 weeks and 2 days) chicks. This one is definitely growing quickly! I posted other pictures of him in a couple of different threads, but never really asked about what type he may be. He's from a free-range flock that has both a Rhode Island Red and Cream Legbar roosters (one each). There are Cream Legbar hens and Rhode Island Red hens. They are from a hatchery and the RIRs are allegedly "heritage".

He was from a medium-colored brown egg, so I'm sure his mama is a RIR. I'm including a photo of him as at a few different ages. The reason I'm interested in confirming he's full RIR is that the farm where I got the eggs said that they'd like to replace their rooster and that they were interested if I hatched a RIR male.

The first photo is at 14 days.

The second photo is at 24 days old.

The last two are from today, 30 days from hatching.

What do you think?

He is a male Cream Legbar RIR mix.

Darn. I have a bunch that I suspected were mixes, they had partial chipmunk stripes, but were out of brown eggs. He was solid-colored as a baby chick. I have probably 6 or 7 different color patterns out of the supposedly two types of parents. I do at least have two that hatched from blue eggs, full chipmunk pattern, that are growing out to be confirmed Cream Legbar pullets. There's already a hint of salmon in the breast feathers.
