Hello,
First of all thanks to the Backyard chickens community, as a new and inexperienced chicken owner your contribution is invaluable.
I need help sexing my two 10-week chicks.
What do you think?
Also, I incubated and hatched eggs that were given to me without much explanation, so I am unsure of breed. Could anyone help me identify that?
Thanks!

Pier

Thanks all for the quick responses!
May I ask what are the main tell signs? I would like to learn and try to sex them myself next time around. My instinct was way off because I had the feeling they were cockerels.

At ten weeks If they were roosters, their combs and wattles would be much bigger and redder. They would show signs of streamer and hackle feathers. Streamer feathers are the feathers that look like they're streaming from the top down to the neck of a rooster. The hackle feathers are distinct large tail feathers of a rooster and they hold these in an upright position. A rooster will also be larger than a hen an hold themselves in an upright position as well. And by that time you would probably start to hear some crowing.
