I’ve read and researched and just when I think I’ve figured out what color type of Coturnix we have, I second guess myself. These birds were hatcherys choice from SW game birds and are 5.5 weeks old. I’ve read mixed things about issues that arise from breeding certain colors/types so want to make sure I’m sure of what we’ve got before we separate them out.

Beautiful birds!
#1 Sparkly Pharaoh (heterozygous aka one copy sparkly), looks to be hen
#2 Sparkly Pearl (heterozygous sparkly, fawn with fee) hen
#3 hard to see patterns, but has either Blau (blue) or roux and fee
#4 Homozygous (2 copies) Sparkly, homozygous Fee… would need to be vent sexed
#5 & #6 are both Pearls and both look to be hens… if chest of #6 is completely white with no spots then male
