Latches etc that racoons can't figure out.

Can I get a rundown on latch styles and other devices that deter raccoons? Ideally that kids can unlatch without much fuss.

A padlock is obviously going to stop them, but I'd prefer something else. Carabiner? Locking carabiner?

Found this on an older thread and it looks like a decent idea.

If you get one that requires a decent amount of strength to pull down, I'd imagine an adult or child would still be able to operate it, but a racoon would likely have a lot of trouble with this.

This! I have these going up. Raccoons can figure locks out but because of the “thumb” concept and having to figure out how to get it off, they can’t do it.

I have a hasp lock and carabiner for the pop door, the lock is inside though. On my people door, I have a slide lock about 4 feet up.
