Pyncheon bantams are believed to be an age old breed, originating in the United States back in the 1800's, based on documentation I could locate via the Internet. There is very little information available about the Pyncheon, which makes locating historical details a challenge. The status in the US is currently unknown, but breeders are attempting to revive the interest in this special little breed and build their numbers. The only current accepted color variety is the mille fleur pattern, however some breeders are working on developing a porcelain variety.
