, it hatched on day 19. He seems to be fine except he ALWAYS sits up and lifts his head, then pushes himself forward, then falls backwards, and cant get up. So I have to go in the brooder and put him back the right way. Has anyone experienced this before? if so please tell me how long it took yours to get on his feet and start walking. (he seem healthy, chirps REALLY loud)

I actually had to help a couple of mine walk after they hatched.
What I do is I put my index finger and thumb on either side of their wings and slowly lift up, so they are on their feet correctly, and make them stay like that for around 20 seconds.
And I do that every five minutes or so, and then help them take their first steps, keeping a finger or two behind their butts to encourage them to stay on their feet for when I let them take all their weight on their own.
But then again I may be overdoing it.

Nope, I've done that before for a weak chick who perked up fine and after a day and a half was wiggling about like mad lying on the floor but didn't really seem to 'get' the whole standing up thing. After a few times of being propped up and held in the right position, she finally figured it out...

I have a bantam cochin roo that took 3 days before he could walk. He acted very weak and would flop around on his belly. I dribbled electrolye/vitamin water on his beak and was thinking I was going to have to cull him but on the third day went to check him he was up running and jumping around. DD named him Forrest Gump. He is still a tad smaller than the rest but very healthy. I think some just need a little more time then others.

Check his feet. Are they folded over or crinkled up? You may need to make orthotic boots for him to flatten them out.

Not a clear pic of the boots, but I cut the wound part of the band-aid off, and I made a foot sandwich out of the sticky side pieces. Make sure the toes are spread out properly, and that there are no sticky parts uncovered that might get stuck to something.

Hes getting around now. hes not standing all the way though but he holds himself up. Hmmmm how could I explain it, hes not walking with "just his feet" yet hes walking alittle with his lower legs on the ground but hes getting around and making alot of improvement, I bet he will be on "just his feet" by tomorrow morning.

Thanks for the pic, I did check and his feet arent bent or anything.

Thats good.
Mine were so funny, they could walk normally but when it came to running they would do it like that. But now all of them are pros at walking and running.
