Hi everyone, I get the basics of breeding lavender pekins (from scratch) but could someone please explain to me exsactly how to do it ?

I get full lavender pekin x full black = split

But then whats then next step?

Do I have to cross the splits back to the lavender parent ?

Or

Carry on crossing split with split ?

Any help would be grateful

Many thanks 😊

Either.
Split back to lavender will give about 50% lavender and about 50% split.
Split to split will give about 25% lavender, about 50% split and about 25% black.
The issue with split to split is that you won't be able to tell the split offspring from the black offspring.
It can still be worked around with test breeding or just by continuing breeding together or back to lavender. Just depends if you're alright with producing fewer lavender then by always breeding back to a lavender.
