I have a fox that is after my chickens. IT is around morning and night. I can't let my girls out to free range anymore and they are quite mad at me. I don't know the rules of shooting foxes??? Does anyone know if you can do it without legal issues??? Do you have to have a license if it is after your chickens?? CURIOUS ????

Check with your local DNR. Some states allow farmers to kill wildlife that is threatening their animals. Foxes are not endangered, shouldn't have too much problem. They may want to set traps themselves or at least have you bring them the carcass.

Colorado...but home is Maine
How close are your neighbors? If it's in an urban setting, I wouldn't. I'd set traps. Now, if you are out in boony land without a neighbor in sight...I *might* be tempted to shoot it and not tell a soul.

I wish I was in Boonyland and then I wouldn't have to ask this question.

I would do the fox?? what fox??? thing. But I live in rural land with neighbors close by so yeah I would have to do it the "right" way and the legal way. I never thought to call and ask DNR....duh
