I have asked before but I will try again...
Does any one know the rules about raising chickens in Elk Grove Ca?
Ok or not? How many? etc....
Any help is appreciated...

Hi Jim, it looks like your planning commission is right now considering to allow a small number of hens - now would be the time for you to act - here is the link to the agenda - go to page 32:

The fact that the planning staff is recommending adoption of allowing 6 hens to residents of Elk Grove is excellent news for you!

Just checked with Elk Grove's Planning comission, I was told that in thirteen days it will be legal to have have six hens as pets. Cages , pens and coops have to be kept clean. Also The setback requirement is gone. I hope this helps.

Thank you SO much for the reply!!! That is great news. It would be nice to eventually have it in print so I would feel 100% safe, since I went ahead and started raising them anyway!!
