Bald spot on back of hen near tail feathers

I have 13 hens and 1 rooster. all have missing feathers on their backs near the tail feathers. I live in northern New England. seems to have started this winter and has progressively gotten worse. i haven't observed any pecking in that area. Not sure what it is.... thoughts?

Looks like maybe that hen is a favorite (of the rooster).

I've had the same problem with a couple of my hens even though my roo-to-hen ratio is fine. The other chickens might peck it, too, and make it worse. You can get/make a "saddle" for her to wear for a while if it's not getting better. Also keep an eye on it to make sure she doesn't get a nasty scratch on that bare skin from the rooster's claws - without the feathers for protection, that can happen. Good luck!

I'm having the same problem with our lavender orpington, but we don't own a rooster. I haven't seen the other hens picking at her.
Should I assume it's the other hens? Do we know if there other causes for this?
