I know this is a chicken site, but ducks & chicken are all poultry! Something ate my Saxony ducks, & I'd really love to get some more. Does anyone know where I might be able to find some in Central New York?

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

This is an everything site...all poultry and other critters welcome. :)

You might stop by your state thread and chat with your chicken neighbors to see if anyone knows where you can get this breed of duck...https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/2811/any-new-yorkers-out-there

You can also stop by our Ducks section and ask around there as well...https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/42/ducks

Take a look at our Buy Sell and Trade section too as you never know you might find some there as well...https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/67/buy-sell-trade

Good luck and I hope you can find some of these ducks soon!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. TwoCrows has given you some good links to help you find your Saxony Ducks. I'm a chicken person and don't know much about ducks (although I've had a few), but I have to admit that ducklings are the ultimate in cute. Good luck in finding your ducks.

Hope something doesn't eat your new ones. Do you have any idea what predator it was?

How did it breach security, if you have any? When a predator gets lucky, he keeps coming back until the supply runs out or he is persuaded to leave (electrified fencing) or
dies of lead poisoning (bullets)
