(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We got our first chickens mid-March this year, when my kiddo brought home two they'd hatched at school.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We now have 6 chickens - the other 4 came to us at the start of June, from a different school hatching program
(3) What breeds do you have?
I... don't know. I've been told New Hampshire Sussex, Lohmann Brown or Barter Brown, but not 100% certain.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I'm surprised how cuddly and goofy these chooks are! If I stand still or dare to sit outside, I'll invariably end up with two or more chickens on me before you say "
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I read, I craft, I bake, I game, I have a WFH office job that takes up most of my time. When the weather is nice, I'll work outside with the chickens.
(6) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I stumbled across BYC when I was looking up how to tell pullet from cockerel. I decided to join because I have my suspicions about a couple of ours, but would like another pair of eyes to check!
