Thank you Issac for all the great info! I really appreciate all your research and help. I never thought these ducks would require so much care. But I love them😍

I would also like to know the brand of the yeast made especially for poultry please.

Well, from what I could find, most livestock yeasts available tend to be low in niacin. If you're looking for a preventative niacin supplement, any nutritional yeast brand, or B3 powder/liquid would suffice.

B3 powder will be more cost-effective, as its more potent, and requires little amounts.

do you need to supplement niacin when you are feeding all flock? i’m worried about my pekin just because he’s so big, but wouldn’t want to feed him something daily if it’s not beneficial or helping him at all

Yes, but no.

The niacin requirement for a Pekin is around 70mg/kg, all the way up until there ten weeks then it drops down to 55mg/kg. All Flock Feed contains 55mg/kg, so that said, if he's above ten weeks he shouldn't need supplementation, but occasionally sprinkling some nutritional yeast over top his feed or treats wouldn't hurt.

Nutritional yeast is my Frank’s Red Hot. I put that sh*t on everything - including eggs. And no I’m not vegan (obviously lol), it’s just super healthy and delicious and perfect for people who eat low carb for replacing breadcrumbs in most dishes. I never thought about it for chickens, though.
Full of good nutrition for everyone!
Green vegetables are also high in vitamin B.

I also got a Brewer's Yeast with Garlic for chicken and duck feed supplement -- i think the brand is Fresh Eggs Daily. I get mine from chewy.com.
Just a word of caution if this matters to you. I got the same brand from the same place and I’m sure it’s a fine product, however, it is not non gmo and there is corn and other grains in there. If that’s something that matters to you then you would want to look elsewhere.

Thank you for that info. I was not aware of that and will have to reconsider.

When I first started rescuing ducks everything I read said use brewers yeast, which I liberally sprinkled on every feed. And most ducklings were fine, but the occasional one was not. I prefer to use a specific multi b or niacin supplement where the actual milligrams is stated on the container.
I also do feel that some ducklings just seem to need more, if you use a supplement that doesn’t give you the exact milligrams of niacin per tablet, gram of powder, or whatever you will get one out of a large clutch that needs more niacin than the others. Of course given I have had people tell me they hve ‘raised heaps of ducklings on just layer pellets and they were all fine thank you very much (of course the calcium toxicity probably didn’t show up till much later) ‘ I suspect that ducklings can tolerate a diet containing inadequate niacin in many cases so possibly none of my first rescued ducklings got enough niacin from the brewers yeast but only one actually was physiologically unable to cope to the extent that leg symptoms developed.

What I have found to be a pretty bullet proof feed for ducklings in the first 4 or so weeks is canned cat food. Here where I live if you look at a can of cat food the top ingredient is meat or meat byproducts, both of which contain high levels of very bioavailable niacin. In addition while meat is the top ingredient, the overall protein is only about 9% which keeps them safe from angel wing.

Cat biscuits are not at all the same it needs to be canned jellymeat type feed.
