Since she may not have had swimming water where she was she may just need to bathe and preen and get the oils spread over her feathers.
Thank you! U are so wonderful at replying I so appreciate it!!She is adorable; love the name Hazel too. As for not floating most likely, it's going to take a while for her to get her feathers where they should be by swimming and preening and spreading the oils from her preen gland over her feathers to make them waterproof. She may need to molt too so if you start noticing feathers laying around don't get worried once she molts her new feathers will be beautiful and waterproof.
As for being able to hear her breathing while she is in the tub, I don't know but if she isn't breathing loud other times and is eating good probably nothing to worry about.
Is that right?!! Oh I hope so!! I’ve never introduced an adult before. I’ve raised my few here together within a few weeks of hatching from each other. I planned to put an expen in my yard while my others graze around her. Then eventually let her loose. I hope it’s smooth. My Runners are so accepting of other Runners I bet when the time comes Hazel will be welcomed into the flock with open wings.
