Oh yes they get treats! They get boiled or scrambled eggs, they LOVE Peas!! Their favorite! They love it when I shred up some romaine lettuce and dice up little pieces if tomatoe and they get salad. They also love apple diced up real tiny. And thy will eat grass and stuff when I take them outside .

Do you suppose the eggs may be contributing to the aroma? As I wrote earlier, just trying to think this thing through, because our eleven ducks, living in the house for three months did not stink.

My boyfriend brought home ducks I did not have anywhere to put them so they're in my dog's cage I don't know anything about taking care of them they poop more than they eat and it stinks really bad and they're dirty please someone please give me advice one of them is starting to get wings but I don't think the other one is yet. I don't have the money to build then a pain and I have two big dogs in the backyard so they've been stuck in a cage in the house I need as much as ice as possible on what to put in the cage for them so that when they poop and they dip their head in the water that they're not just standing in their own feces I'm changing newspaper and cardboard several times a day

Why did your boyfriend bring home ducklings when your not prepared to care for them properly. They need to be on some type of bedding that you can clean everyday so they aren't standing in their own poop.[TSC carries pine bedding] Yes ducks poop alot and it does stink. What are you feeding them? How many ducklings/ducks are there? and where are you we can help you place an add on your state forum so hopefully you can find good homes for them. They can't live in a dog cage all their lives.
here is a lot of info on how to care for ducklings and ducks
Please give info on feed and what type of waterer you are using ducks need to be able to dunk their heads to keep their nares and eyes clean and healthy.
I am not trying to be mean but taking on the responsibility of caring for animals should be well thought out and it sounds like you are not in the position to take care of these ducks the way they should be cared for.
:welcome
ducklings can be in warm water in a tub with supervision so they don't tire out and drown. They will love having a bath. Start them with warm water just up to tops of their legs if young.

I had been telling him that I wanted ducks but I expected us to go and get ducks and all the supplies that go with them but instead he just brought me home two ducks in a little cardboard carrier that they give you at Tractor Supply when you buy them and a bag of food. We are going today to get the supplies to build them some sort of coop or pin or something clearly I know that I don't know how to take care of them that's why I was asking for advice I'm in Perry Oklahoma I had given up trying to give them away nobody wanted them so we were planning on building something for them I didn't plan on keeping them in a dog cage forever they're already getting too big they've already tripled in size in a couple weeks I have only been using a tupperware bowl for water big enough for them to dunk their head in but not big enough for them to get in and I refill it several times a day the food is some bag of crumbly stuff from Purina for game birds I only give them a bowl of food a day because it lasts them all day I give them water probably 5 or more times throughout the day. I can take care of them if somebody will just tell me what to do I watched a YouTube video and the guy said to get wood chips when I went to Tractor Supply the guy gave me wood flakes or something you said they were softer and absorbent and they were best for ducks. I've had cats dogs rats and rabbits but never birds of any sort but I take the responsibility of caring for animals very seriously and I will love and care for them the way they are suposed to be cared for if someone will tell me how . so far I have been tokd no soap just water for their bath and that it has to be supervised no soap because it will strip them of the oil that they need for their feathers to be waterproof . In the video thr guy had some weird tube with holes in it for water so they can dunk their head in but not tip it over or get in it and soak everything . what is the proper food and I don't know for sure how old they are will fiid change as they grow?

OK, this is really not good at all! Where are you located?
I am in Perry ok . the dog kennel is large and I know that it isn't they way they should live and I didn't plan on keeping them like that it was all I had and I did the best I could and I changed the cardboard and newspapers several times a day because they poop Constantly I can't touch them because everytime I try it scares them so bad I am afraid they will hurt themselves the first day they ran to the opposite side and squeezed through the bars and I had to catch them thankfully the bedroom door was closed. I have to be very gentle and slow when I walk in the bedroom where they are or they start running and knocking their water and food over and right now that is why they a bath they have dry crumbles on the from running into the water bowl knocking it over then doing the same thing to their food people keep telling me to make sure that I hold them and touch them a lot so they can get used to me but it traumatizes them every time I get close to them. I talk to them in a calm voice and reach as slow and easy as I can into the crate and they spaz out running around chirping and today the bigger one pushed his head through the bars and it got stuck for a few seconds I put them in a really big plastic tote the guy on the youtube video said you can use them but its smaller than the crate they were in so after today they won't be in either. How should I house them we want to build them something in the yard that the dogs can't get to them in any suggestions keep in mind I am on a budget i want to get them a mini pool that they can have when they are old enough so it woukd have to be big enough I thought maybe a chicken coup

A chicken coop or dog house will work. They will need a secure pen, too, if you have dogs. A kiddie pool will be great for them! You might be able to use it as a brooder with pine shavings in it until you can get them a house and pen outside.

Game bird food is very high in protein which will make their poop extra stinky and may cause angel wing later (where the tips of their wings bend outward - not a big deal, but something to consider). Duck starter will be better because it will have a better amount of niacin, which ducks need in order to have strong legs.

Move slowly around the ducks and handle them carefully every day. They will calm down.

Keep asking us questions! We'll help you (and your ducklings)!
