Update: As of this morning we're still plugging along. I can't tell if the prolapse shrunk a bit, or maybe some swelling went down, but its definitely not getting worse. I soaked her again this morning, I'll probably repeat this afternoon as well. She still seems to be doing good. Her crop is filling during the day and she's drinking, pooping, and perching, so thats encouraging.
One thing I did notice while soaking her this morning, it seems like the prolapse is getting a bit "scabby" around the edges? Is that because of the areas the other hens were likely pecking it? I just don't want it to get dried out since I know it should stay moist. Photos below.
I've been trying to clean it best I can, but I’m not sure about the best way to get the white fluidly material off. I dont want to hurt her either, so I haven't been cleaning it to aggressively. Along with that, I can't seem to get much of any cream to stick to it. What I do get on slides off pretty quickly. I ended up putting honey on it instead since that is good for wound care. I've read about it being good for prolapses as well, so thought I'd give it a go. Stuck much better than any cream, so thats good.

Could be a nervous tick. Have you checked her head and ears for mites and lice?

Do the best you can to keep the tissue moist. It's probably going to be crusty with scabs and the urates/discharge may harden on there too. Mineral oil may help loosen some of it up if it sticks really bad.
Hopefully she will heal, but it will take time.

I've never noticed the issue until now, so I wondered if it was stress related. I'll check tomorrow morning.

I do have some mineral oil I can use for her, I'll see how it looks tomorrow. I'm just really worried I'll hurt her trying to clean it. I figure crusting over is more dangerous, but I just feel so bad for her.
I figured. Especially the initial bloody discharge I was seeing before the prolapse, makes me worried there's more going on than the usual. I am staying home from a trip this week to keep an eye on her, poor angle. I do hope she recovers.

Sounds like whatever the outcome she knows she is loved. I had a full size hen who had a much worse prolapse and who with the treatment plan your following and gently pushing the prolapse in and holding a few seconds several times a day she did recover. So keep hope and continue loving and enjoying b her and your flock

Thank you, I appreciate it. ☺️ I'm hoping thats how my story goes as well. The sweet girl is still trying to keep her game face on. She eating, drinking, and perching very well, so I'm rooting for her. Hopefully we can figure this thing out, she is a sweet special little girl.

Update: She’s still doing good this morning, and her prolapse msg be starting to look better. I’m not sure if she pulled the build up off herself, or it fell off, but all the build up was gone this morning. It doesn’t look as irritated as before either. She’s still eating and drinking we’ll. It’s been a week now and she still had g passed d as my egg material which has me a bit worried. Continuing with calcium daily, and added olive leaf powder to her antibiotic protocol. She has not seemed to decline at all.
