Yea, the feed store can be really dangerous in the spring/summer. The chicks that they have there are VERY sneaky and will jump in your car with you every time!

Congrats on the chicks! From my very limited experience, I'm thinking you might have australorps. Looks just like my australorp hen when she was a little one.
I hope they are australorps!!

Tractor supply around here haven’t had any in months….otherwise I would be a victim of buying more. I still have my first 18 inside. 😂 I can’t wait to get more…but probably looking more at spring time.
Maybe some fall chicks? Here they seem to do a spring and fall run. If I didn't distrust the labeling at tsc so much, I'd likely have many more than the few I have.

Well they’re supposed to be jersey giants but you know how it goes with tractor supply. Our last batch were supposed to be silver wynadottes and we only got one out of the batch 🤣
Told my husband about chicken math. I had a broody whose eggs were due to hatch this past Monday. She only had 3 and I was afraid they may not hatch/die. I haven’t had a hen go broody in about 3 years so I wanted her to raise some. Went to tractor supply to get a couple for her to raise and my husband asks “how many are you getting, and don’t give me that chicken math crap. I want to know how many your getting.” I did get 9 in March and 6 in April so I see why he was concerned. Got 4 on Sunday. Slipped them under her Sunday night and I got up early Monday morning to make sure they were ok. They were fine and two of the 3 eggs hatched so she has 6. Being a good momma

I can’t believe they are so inaccurate! I’m still somewhat new to chickens but our first batch 1 out of 6 were what we thought, at least they were all hens
