You've earned your wings with this great save! Is law enforcement involved to help locate the owners? Or maybe humane society, unless the chickens would just slip through the cracks and go back to the quacks. Perhaps someone here on BYC who is nearby can lend a hand with supplies, space, temporary housing.
Thank you. Yes, law enforcement jumped right on it. The mainguy was cited several misdemeanors and fine $7,500. It's a start.

I am still looking for housing. I'm worried the two id'd as rooster start crowing. The birds are settleing in. Eat well, move about. The most raggedy one is still struggling but improving. She/he us quite large and was jammed into that little box for who know how long. I'm certain is sustained some injuries. Recovery is on the way though.

They have been treated for worm and had a round of antibiotics

Still no crowing and no eggs but they seems happier. Any and all tips are welcomed.

Wish I lived closer because I would love to take a few! I hope they find a happy home though. Sounds like they are doing fantastic!

Help! The birds many of you id'd as roosters are still not crowing. Not a bad thing. Just hopeful they're some weird giant hybrid hens. They all move around comfortably. No eggs. No crowing. I expect the no egg part. They were pretty traumatized. How long do y'all think it will be before thwy crow?

They now finished a 5day course of safeguard. They are perky. Curious. They roost very close together. Almost on top of each other. Still searching for a home. I am willing to travel to place them in a good home.

I'm so grateful for all that you have done for these creatures and thrilled those vile people got fined :)

That's terrible! Maybe try putting found posters up around? They were obviously cared for so somebody will come for them most likely. Or take them to a close non-kill animal shelter, there's a chance somebody might go there looking for them.
