Im going to raise that front roof about 6 to 8 inches so the front and sides will have some flow (and get them wired up). then the top hinged windows seem like a great idea to I wont do one on the back but maybe the right hand side exterior would like one. I thought they wouldnt stay in it much wihtout the vents yet but they love it in there lol. once i get the run to 6 feet get me a door made. So far 8 chickens every day. They are much easier to handle outside of the brooder.

Im also Ms @DobieLover doing the chicken apron as u recommended. I plan to stake it down better but the grass is trying to get through it now.

Also before winter im going to get that thing insulated. and maybe make the door into a stall door.

The silkies are finnaly showing their sexual characteristics. Who needs some roos??????????Their turqoise is starting on their EARS!!!!!!!!!

The silkies still half act like their being murdered when i try to get most of them. Some calm down better than others. 1 will just about rather die than be handled. My porcelains and Light brahma I could hand to a kid and walk away... I love them so much. getting these chicks has been a great Experience and im just loving seeing them enjoying some sunlight and meeting my co workers. I cant believe how big the silkies are. they tower over my porcelain bantams. they are comparable to the Light brahma weight wise.

Excited to upgrade the feeder and hang it. also excited to once i position their roof permanantly to get the water hung inside.

And does anyone know best way to sex the Porcelain Duccles? they dont look to have red combs and they are slighty pinker at the ends. they have such nice erect tails. and they are just so a pleasure to show to people. 1 nips u when u get "her"? but its just so cute cus shes so tiny then she relaxs.

The light Brahma's the calmest most relaxing on to handle. she could be a therapy bird lol. my neighbor almost cried when i handed her to her. lol.
Where is the ventilation in the coop going?
Are you going to install top hinged windows too?

It looks great. Be sure and put an apron around it, all sides to keep diggers out. 18" to 2 ' out with hardware cloth works great.
