We followed a carolina coop design called the Americana. If i could go back, i would put much more consideration to the external nesting boxes because one is in direct sun ALL day and gets super hot here in CT. I'm considering blocking that box off which leaves me with 2 nests for 5 chickens. 🤷♀️

When my chicken ripped her comb 75% off, i isolated her and washed it twice a day and added vetericyn plus and neosporin. I didnt use the blue kot in order to see the wound. The blue kot discolors it and because she wasnt with flock, i didnt need to camouflage the wound from anyone. Good luck...
