So, she is really limping pretty badly today, and limiting her activities, which I haven’t seen her do prior. We must have really bothered something last night when we were cleaning up her foot. I want to get your opinions once again. I hope I don’t tire you out, but this forum is my best chance for her recovery right now I think. I have an opened bottle of the 10% Baytril. I had it for other pets several years ago. The “expiration” date is 10/20/18. It is in a brown plastic bottle, and it has been stored in our fairly climate controlled home in a dark place. I did place an order through Jedd’s last night for some new. However, I am in Michigan, and Jedd’s is in California. I don’t know if I’m over reacting because of the severe limp today, but I’m just afraid I will lose her. I called Jedd’s and asked if I could use the old stuff until I get my new stuff. They said NO. I’m wondering what you all think? I’ve heard that expired meds don’t go bad or turn into something different, they just get weaker. I don’t know. I also have outdated Metacam. I’m wondering if I could use that for her pain? Maybe a bad limp is not that big of deal. I am just at the beginning of my (hopefully) long journey with ducks. Your input, regardless of what it is, is much appreciated! Thank you kindly.
