🚨Wanted: Tips for Raising Hormonal Bad Boys

What can one do to help prevent the hormonal boys from beating up the girls in the flock?

Pretend you have a new flock... all the birds are the same age.

All of a sudden a couple of the males decided to start beating up a girl or two.

How do I stop them from continuing to beat her/them up?

I had one, all he wanted to do was mate! He also had mating aggression. Not fun.
We got rid of him, though. So not really sure if he could have calmed down or whatnot.

I did nothing. It helped a lot when I got rid of all but one, since it wasn't such a competition for dominance. If I wanted to keep them all I would separate them completely from the females. Out of sight.

Eat em.
Caponize em.
Or start a bachelor flock.

Whatever you do, please do it quickly! We lost two, almost three of our pullets to an over eager rooster's violent affection. My partner ended up having to put a bullet in the cockrel's head, after pulling him off my beautiful Spotted Sussex, who sadly succumbed to her shock/injuries.
I later learned that the boys mature more quickly than the girls, I should have separated them when the trouble began.
I'm assuming you're talking about young chickens, and I should ask...how old are your chickens? Boy to girl ratio?

Do you have an Alpha rooster?

It sounds like a male to female ratio problem, but I think any rooster who isn’t reasonably good to his girls needs to go.

Yeah, I'm no help. But I've never had to deal with more than one at a time, however the usual suggestions, painless peepers and separation. I've used a hose/long range water gun before when my roo was being jerk ish, it curtailed some of the behavior.
Of course, that means you need to be there excessively.
